Marketing, Sales and Customer Service

Gordon Cox is the Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Customer Support for the Savant Group of companies and is responsible for managing all brands, distribution channels, and deployment of sales for the organizations. He is responsible for developing the strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction & retention. Email

Norm Kanar is Savant Labs and Institute of Materials Marketing & Sales Manager.  He is responsible for researching and developing marketing opportunities and planning and implementing new sales plans.  Norm also drives strategies to increase product awareness by observing the market, competitors, and industry trends and serving customers with Savant’s unique brand of personal attention and expertise. Cindy Esler is the Senior Communications Specialist for Savant Labs and Savant Group overall. She supports and oversees the development and execution of strategic communication plans in line with our marketing goals and objectives, providing value-add initiatives and generating new ideas to support our sales and marketing team.  Email

Karrie Gordon is the Customer Experience Supervisor for both Savant Labs and Institute of Materials.  She is responsible for the sample handling, order intake, and fulfillment functions of Savant Labs.  Karrie ensures timely and quality products, services, and processes are established, implemented, and improved. Jessica Ice is the Order Fulfillment Specialist.  Her attention to detail and timely response will ensure a positive customer experience from sample check-in and the scheduling phase to report preparation and delivery of results to our customers.  Email

Analytical Operations

Maggie Smerdon is the Operations Lab Manager.  Maggie is responsible for all aspects of analysis and lab operations, assuring quality control, documentation of compliance with specifications and regulations, maintaining safety, and providing direction to lab staff. Her mission is to continually improve the excellence throughout the labs.  Email

Canika Owen-Robinson is the New Business Integration Leader.  Canika is responsible for effectively incorporating new capabilities into the labs.  This includes equipment selection, evaluation, project management, development oversight, and training.  In addition to new tests and methods, she also is responsible for oversight of capital planning and project execution necessary to sustain our world-class lab capability.  Email

Mike Habitz is the Quality Assurance and Instrumentation Supervisor.  Mike’s mission is to continually improve the excellence throughout the labs – leading the Quality Management Program (ISO 9001 and ISO 17025) initiatives including process improvements, procedure documentation, and training.  In addition, Mike ensures the effective operation, calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment, instruments, and procedures including customer reporting and communications.  As a senior chemist, Mike has worked for Savant Labs for over 20 years and has vast experience and a solid history of our test offerings, helping to establish many testing protocols. Mike is excited to continue our reputation for technical precision and quality data to meet our customers’ needs.
