Savant Labs Celebrate 50 Years Serving the Lubrication Industry
As a family owned and
operated business, Savant Labs are not just celebrating 50 years in business,
but a lifetime of lubricant industry knowledge, dedication to the community,
and the staying power with an eye on the future. Founded by Theodore Selby as a
materials-consulting firm with an emphasis on lubrication, Savant Labs evolved
from a one-man show with one room and one piece of equipment in 1969 to a multi-thousand
square feet facility, with a vast assortment of lubrication testing equipment
and a crew of dedicated chemists, technicians and customer service personnel
today.
Savant Labs deliver innovative insight and quality product, service, and solutions for the advancement of the industries served. With Ted Selby as the founder, an impressive 50 U.S. patents for lubricant test methods and high precision test instruments with over 250 related technical papers, adds to the depth of understanding and service to the industry. The labs are also ISO 9001:2015 certified with a large number of test methods that are ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited. These certifications and accreditations are a direct result of the people of the Savant Labs that pledge to produce products and provide services that meet or exceed our customers' requirements. “ISO certification can be a grueling process,” said Norm Kanar, Marketing and Sales Manager, “but our talented team of individuals has continued to meet the challenge and has a well-established quality management system producing reliable and competent test and calibration results.”
