API SP, ILSAC GF-6A/GF-6B & SAE J183

On May 1, 2020, the ILSAC GF-6A and GF-6B  engine oil performance standard aimed at improving fuel economy and enhancing engine capabilities for passenger cars became effective.  New standards were needed because of mechanical advancements in modern engines and more protection was needed from the preceding GF-5 specification.  The SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) has adopted these improvements in the SAE J183 standard. 

 Savant Labs has the ability and capacity to perform the testing required for the fresh oil viscosity and bench test requirements, including the elastomer compatibility testing necessary to meet the new standards.
